Chinuk Wawa Basketry Unit
A unit for teaching K-12 on the process and art of basketry, including curriculum and several storybooks.
The curriculum and storybooks for the Basketry Unit were provided through a grant from the Spirit Mountain Community Fund in 2008-2009. The unit contains curriculum with lesson plans, as well as several storybooks. This work represents a collaboration of Grand Ronde master basket weavers, staff and teachers of the Chinuk-wawa immersion schools, the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, and the Northwest Indian Language Institute.
